THE ULTIMATE GUIDE FOR A MEANINGFUL AND PRODUCTIVE WEDDING CONSULTATION.

There are very few resources available to photographers in how to conduct their client consultation. So much so, that it's been a complete trial and error for the last 10 years in how I run my own client consultations.   Many photographers leave consultations feeling confident and then defeated after they find out that they lost the booking and just don't know what they can be doing differently. My booking rate after a consultation is at an all time high, especially when we meet IN person versus over the phone. After booking steadily for 10 years (25-50 weddings per year), I am really looking forward to sharing with you how I approach my time with a prospective client.

I was SO curious to know your process - I had to get your guide! I saw you posting about it on Instagram and didn't think I needed it at first since I didn't use to meet up with clients. Now that I want to implement consultations, it was helpful to have a guide to get started.

I really like the questions you listed on how to get to know the couple and their vision for the wedding. I also love the idea of showing them print products. I use Pic-Time and think their printing options are amazing and meeting in person will help me show that off.

My biggest fear with meet ups is that it will come off as salesy. But I think keeping in mind that the meeting itself is just an extension of my brand and a way for us to get to know each other will help. To anyone looking and purchasing this guide - if it's pulling at you and you are curious about learning more about client consultations, BUY IT! There are always ways we can grow and refine our business practices and it's worth it to invest in a product like this to learn from someone who has been killing it the way Kristen has been!

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THIS GUIDE?

THE QUESTIONS THAT I ASK COUPLES TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THEM AND THEIR DAY

In order to be able to meet their expectations and have a better understanding of them as a couple, I need to see and hear what's important to them. The better understanding I have of them and how they view their day, the better job I can do of documenting it and meeting their needs.

WHAT I BRING TO A MEETING

Our jobs are completely visual. What can we supplement at our meetings to devote attention to our work in a new way? Bringing something along to meetings emphasises our professionalism and adds to our revenue.

SELLING OURSELVES A BRAND

It's critical to make sure that we, as photographers, are providing a window into the service that we will be selling. If you don't know yourself and what you can offer, how will your clientele know?

IS THIS FOR ME?

With 19 pages of information from how to respond to an inquiry to all of the information provided to a prospective client, there's little mystery left in how I conduct my client consultations.

I'll never forget attending my first workshop and all I wanted to ask the seasoned photographer was "what do you talk about in your client consultations?". I felt so in the dark about what was said in order to "hook" a client, and spent many years trying to figure that out for myself. Even just affirmation that was I was doing was ok would have been more than helpful.

If you've repeatedly been told "we are going with another photographer, thanks for your time", then this might be the education opportunity for you.

CHECK OUT COURTNEY’S THOUGHTS ON A RECENT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY FROM KMP:

I fell in love with Kristen’s teaching style years ago when I stumbled upon her class at a workshop I was attending. Her talk was absolutely the biggest game changer I’d ever experienced, both as a new business person and also as a creative. So when it came to the point in the rollercoaster of business where I was struggling all over again with feeling unsure and directionless, I looked no further than Kristen. She’s full of grace and humility and truly invested in her time with me. There wasn’t a question she made me feel uncomfortable asking. Of course, I appreciated that she was an open book. But more than that, I loved how fashioned our time was to exactly what I was walking through in my business and my creative journey. She’s a great listener and I felt that she really took the time to hear where I was at and meet me there. We immediately got to the heart of what I wanted to learn about and grow in. I left feeling encouraged, affirmed and challenged with a clear direction on where I want to take my business. I couldn’t ask for anything more!! Kristen is a gem. She’s truly a joy to spend time with and learn from.
